BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN. Recipients of the honorary medals at the Investiture Ceremony held yesterday at the Istana Nurul Iman expressed appreciation and gratitude on receiving their honours.
The recipients were bestowed the honorary medals by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
One of the recipients was Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Mohd Shah Al-Islam, who received the Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang, First Class (DPKT).
In an interview, he was thankful to His Majesty for the honour, and wished the monarch a long life.
Speaking on the Royal Brunei Police Force itself, he said, “We want to have an educated, well-balanced, clever, intelligent police force and police personnel. This should be leveraged on by everybody. We want to be a partner in combating crime. The police cannot combat crime on its own. We want the people to be behind us.
“Of course, I want the police personnel, the officers to upgrade themselves, to be more knowledgeable, to work together, to find out more, to do analysis, and let’s see how we move together as a force,” he added.
